I'm procrastinating right now on some freelance work. So until I get the drive to start the project I wanted to blog a bit. I spent my weekend shopping for an area rug, side tables and lamps. It was torture. I swear it was. I drove and drove and drove and never found what I wanted. Because I couldn't find an area rug to replace the one in our living room I will have to rent a cleaner to clean the one we have. We have friends coming into town with a 10-month-old baby and the minute she touches that rug she may blow up into one big hive. It has to be soo dirty. I vacuum it but it is also the place that our dog dive bombs after eating. Wiping his snout up and down the carpet. It's the only carpet we have in the house so it's a prime target. I'm itching right now just thinking about how dirty it is!
We also put up a new banister on our staircase going upstairs. Not by choice- the old one ripped away from the wall last week which was definitely not safe. It looks really good now because we used wrought iron spindles to give it a more modern twist. I'll take some before and after pics. I am still staining one of the posts so it's not ready yet.
There is a chance Matt and I may be getting another dog. He's an 11-year-old boxer that just needs a place to live out the rest of his life in comfort. He was abandoned inside of a house left to starve. He was and still is skinny but incredibly sweet. I'll know by the weekend whether we decide to adopt him. I haven't broke the news to P-dog yet. I don't think he'll care. It will be the geriatric center for canines at the Collins' household.
